The Resources and Development Committee is responsible for reviewing legislation relating to Chuuk State’s natural resources, including land, fisheries, marine resources, forestry, and the environment. The committee also examines legislation affecting economic development, infrastructure, and investment across the state. Given the central importance of the ocean and natural environment to Chuukese communities and livelihoods, the committee plays a vital role in ensuring that development is sustainable and that traditional resource rights are respected and protected.
